Fast becoming my favourite firefox plugin, the Wordtracker SEO Blogger toolbar is a free add on for firefox which helps find alternative keywords at the time of writing an article.

By entering your chosen keyword(s), you not only get to see how many times it is searched, but the Wordtracker toolbar also suggests alternative keywords for you, this alone saves ages doing keyword research.

You can add the ones you that want to a "chosen keyword" list, and then it will keep a count of how many times you use that word or expression throughout the article.
